• A A R Blackbird 8573 is a fancy, wide bodied heifer with a
big future. She has a birth weight of 73 pounds and ratioed
113 at weaning. Her dam, A A R Blackbird 3629, is just what
you are looking for in a cow. She is deep bodied, clean
fronted with really good feet and a nice udder. “3629” posts
progeny ratios of 4 @ 104 for weaning and 1 at 105 for yearling.
She is a daughter of Apex Frontman 081, who has been
a great bull for our program and his daughters are some of
the best that we have working in our herd. They are feminine
fronted, docile cows with lots of rib and very good structure
and udders. “081” has 25 daughters that have produced 48
calves and have an average ratio of 104.
• “8573’s” Great Great Grandam is A A R Blackbird 2469, an
all-time superstar cow at Arntzen Angus. She is a daughter
of A A R New Trend and has been as influential to
our herd as almost any cow we have ever raised.
• Her sire, Ellingson Consistent 6235, is a bull that you
will hear more about in the future. He was a top seller
in the 2017 Ellingson Angus Ranch Annual Bull Sale
that we purchased with Richard Angus. He is moderate
framed with lots of length and thickness. He stands on
a great set of feet and exhibits a gentle disposition. As a
group, his calves really stand out. His daughters already
have a look that makes you feel like they will make great
cows.
