Garrett & Katie Harrington’s Targhee ewes originated from Dan and Carolyn Harrington’s (my grandparents) Targhee ewes. This bunch of yearling ewes and ewe lambs are sired by Targhee rams from Mike Capra rams, Ortmann rams, and Tauck rams. Their wool has been averaging 20.5-21 micron. Our goal is to try to keep a smaller frame, open face ewe with longer & finer wool.
Raised on the Powder River near Broadus, MT they feed mostly on river bottom ground and irrigated hayfields. Our herd has always been shed lambed and all replacement ewe lambs are individually selected & marked in the lambing jugs to be sorted again in the fall and after shearing!
