We are hosting our 22nd Sugar Bars Legacy Sale in beautiful
and historic Sheridan, Wyoming and are excited to announce
that the sale will be broadcast online this year, through Frontier
Live Sale. We hope this will benefit all those that cannot attend
the sale in person. Registration information will be listed in the
catalog; along with a link on our website and Facebook page,
for those wanting to bid online. We thank and welcome all our
buyers, consigners, staff, and friends that have made our sale
possible. Bar M Quarter Horses established the sale to preserve
the bloodlines of the late American Quarter Horse stallion, Sugar
Bars. As with tradition, the Sugar Bars Legacy Sale Association
will be hosting the sale this year; and it includes an exciting
variety of outstanding Sugar Bars bred horses- meeting the needs
of those interested in halter, performance, ranch, recreation, or
those looking to take home a well-bred broodmare.
SUNDAY, September 22nd- SALE Day! The sale begins with the
selection of the WILD CARD weanling; and will then proceed in
catalog order! We have limited the number of weanlings and
yearlings this year, so make sure you come early and be ready to
bid. The lineup of riding horses includes young ones just started;
to the well started performance prospect, the all-around ranch
horse, finished- arena, trail, and family horses. A select group of
Sugar Bars bred saddle horses will sell early among the weanlings/
yearlings—we will announce lot numbers early on sale day!
Our weekend of events will start off on SATURDAY, September
21st with the Yearling Halter Futurity and Ranch Horse Versatility
Futurity for 2- & 3-Year old’s. All weanlings sold at the 2023 sale
are eligible to compete in the Yearling Futurity. To compete in the
ranch horse versatility your horse must have sold in 2021 or 2022
as a weanling or as a yearling in 2022 or 2023 through our sale
(eligibility transfer with horse).

ALL PURCHASES MUST BE MADE WITH A CREDIT CARD. YOU MUST CALL IN TO THE SALE STAFF AFTER PURCHASE WITH A VALID CREDIT CARD AND IT WILL BE CHARGED IMMEDIATELY UPON PURCHASE! ONLY VISA, MASTERCARD, AND DISCOVER!
TERMS & CONDITIONS: Terms of sale are cash, personal check, cashier’s check (U.S. Funds), credit cards (with 4% convenience fee added). In addition to cost of horse, brand inspection fee & health inspection fee for each horse purchased. Each animal sells to the highest bidder with auctioneer settling bidding disputes. Registration paper and transfer will be given to the buyer at the sale- if ALL information is complete on the transfer- including the sellers’, the horses’, the sale and the buyer’s information. All incomplete transfers will be held along with the registration paper, until the secretary is contacted with the complete buyer information. Any consignors that do not have registration papers back from AQHA need to mail them to SBLS Secretary, and then they will be sent onto the buyer, along with the transfer. Announced catalog changes on sale day take precedence over this printed book. Horses will sell in catalog order unless otherwise specified. A Wyoming Veterinarian and Wyoming State Brand Inspector will be at the sale to assist buyers. ALL horses sell with a negative Coggins test and current health papers. We strongly encourage buyers to carefully inspect the horses before bidding. There are no further guarantees unless specified by seller. All horses are buyer’s property as soon as sold; and buyer assumes all liability & expense. No delivery is available until final settlement on all purchases. Buyers must arrange for care of horses at their own risk until delivery of horse(s). Consignors will provide a Halter and lead rope for each horse sold. SBLS or its members or the Sheridan County Fairgrounds assume no liability for defects in the quality, soundness, or condition of the horses-WHATSOEVER. Any person attending this sale does so at their own risk. Neither the owners, Sugar Bars Legacy Sale or its members, Sheridan County Fairgrounds, nor any other person connected with this sale assumes any liability, legal or otherwise.
